Remember the controversy over California’s sanctuary laws that started this March and before Sessions’ and his Zero-Tolerance Policy on the prosecution of immigrants? Well, if you were following this issue all this time, then here is some good news in favor of immigrants: A US judge just upheld two of these laws while temporarily barring a third law.
While this is definitely a temporary victory in favor of California’s sanctuary laws, it must be noted that this ruling still does not decide the final question of law as to the consitutionality of the aforementioned sanctuary laws.
A U.S. judge denied the federal government’s request to block two California laws that seek to protect undocumented immigrants, but temporarily barred a third law that had required employers to restrict immigration officials’ access to workplaces.
